Soccer

G&T Youth Soccer is an eight week soccer program designed to encourage boys and girls, ages five through fourteen, to grow skillful in the game of soccer and in life. Our goal is to assist you in any way a coach or a church can. We work hard to help your children enjoy the game of soccer while developing an appreciation for good sportsmanship and citizenship.

G&T Youth Soccer is unique in that we offer a staged approach focused on player development. The youngest fields play on small fields with small teams (5 on 5) focusing on introducing basic soccer skills. The intermediate ages play on a slightly larger field (6 on 6) and we introduce a goalie. The second oldest field (usually 11U) divides the session between a game and a practice. The oldest age group (14U) plays a regular game each week.

We know that younger kids need to be kept moving, so their session is face paced. Each week your children will warm up, compete in soccer relays and drills, receive soccer instruction in a small group, play three games, and enjoy some biblical instruction. Every seventeen minutes they will be doing something different. We’ve found this format both encouraging and rewarding for children and their families.

The 11U teams split the session between a practice and a game each week. They also get a Bible lesson each week from their coaches.

The 14U teams have a full game each Saturday morning along with a practice during a week night. There is also an individual competition time each Saturday morning (6 weeks) that allows athletes to compete for a spot in a week 8 Allstar game and for an award for top overall player.

We encourage parents to stay with their children throughout each session and enjoy the fun! If you’ve been involved in years past, welcome back.
